Deepwater Horizon joins the list.

Deepwater Horizon’s impact on the environment turns into a lesser of the two evils decision, according to the article here. As the oil spreads towards the coast, a burn off is suggested that has the potential to remove a large amount from the ocean’s surface. The issue is what’s best, a slick or air pollution? Either way it’s another example of a lack of ability to counter devastating consequences, as depressingly outlined in MSN’s slideshow of man-made environmental disasters.

Viewing that makes me doubt there’s any safe haven left away from suburbia.
